Who What Where

My name is Lynn, and I'm a 28 year old student, designer, and future art teacher from Charleston, South Carolina. Pizza makes me happy. Also, red wine, knitting, cleaning, good green, sunshine, and headshotting angry kids on XBL. I started this website in March of 2008 as a place for me to write a lot about nothing. It's where I share my opinions and vent my frustrations, both of which I have more than enough of. It's also cheaper than therapy. Want more?

Fresh for April

Click for Past HeadersIs it really April already? Spring is definitely here, and Charleston looks beautiful! I can't believe how quickly March flew by. Trying to balance school and a social life has proven to be pretty difficult, so blogging kinda took a backseat. Somehow I'm managing, though. It has been so hard for me this last week to stay home, but I've had to save my energy, gas and money. Tomorrow morning (or in the middle of the night tonight), my best friend Adrian will be back in town, and we are definitely going to cause some trouble because yesterday was her birthday!

A new month also means a new look for the site, so here it is. One of the last projects I had to do for one of my classes was a Photoshop collage about myself (below), and having just finished that up, I figured making something similar for the new header would be the quickest thing to do. Meh, I'm lazy. Check out the past headers here.

A New Month, A New Look

Click for Past HeadersI'm actually a day early with this, but that's because starting tomorrow, I'm going to be short on the available free time again. So here it is, after more than six months, I've finally given the site a face lift. I'm desperate for Spring, so that combined with listening to High Contrast's Confidential ended up spawning what you see. I'm not too keen on the heading and link colors I've chosen, though. That was done in a hurry, so if they don't grow on me, I'll probably change them.

Anyway, these last few days have been awesome because I've been able to pretty much do as I please. It's been a while since I last had a work-free weekend, so I've definitely made the most of it. Things in my life are coming back into balance, and as much as I tend to complain about being so busy all the time, I've realized I miss having things to do all the time when there's nothing to do. Maybe that's why I've become so much more interested in all my hobbies again. Or, maybe it's just nice not having a major distraction around anymore.

Whatever the reason, the creative energy is flowing more than it has in years and I couldn't be more pleased. Going back to school was an awesome decision.

A Motivated Morning

Is it really September already? I'm having a hard time believing it. I didn't bother making a new header graphic for this month, so just like I did for the July header, I changed the date. I'll definitely make one for October, though, because I am so looking forward to the Fall! I'm tired of the heat and humidity, and I can't wait for it to finally be cold enough to turn off the A/C and use the fireplace. I'm also really looking forward to hanging out in the back yard at night without bugs and getting to use the fire pit in our patio set's table for the first time. I'm ready for scarves and hoodies, and hopefully the cooler weather will get me knitting again. The changing of seasons always fills me with so much hope.

Things are still busy around here, but I'm not minding it. So far, I'm really enjoying both of my classes, and, even though I am not really a fan of getting up at five o'clock in the morning twice a week, I think it's worth it. Funny enough, I don't have classes today, but I got up around five o'clock this morning anyway. I'm still tired one cup of coffee and two hours later, but I don't intend to go back to bed. Sometimes I really enjoy being up before the sun. Most likely the day will be spent working on homework, catching up with friends and family on the phone, playing a little CoD4 on the Xbox, and doing laundry. That is exactly the kind of day I need.

August Comes Early to LofN

It dawned on me today that I only had a couple days left to make a new header grahic for August. I definitely didn't want to put one up late--or not at all, like for July--so I started working on one while taking breaks from everything I was doing around the house. I decided to put it up early when I finished, though, because with as much as I have to in the next few days, I didn't want to take time away from more important things to work on the site design. So, here it is. It came about while listening to lots of Imogen Heap, Four Four, Dido, and Jem.
