Who What Where

My name is Lynn, and I'm a 28 year old student, designer, and future art teacher from Charleston, South Carolina. Pizza makes me happy. Also, red wine, knitting, cleaning, good green, sunshine, and headshotting angry kids on XBL. I started this website in March of 2008 as a place for me to write a lot about nothing. It's where I share my opinions and vent my frustrations, both of which I have more than enough of. It's also cheaper than therapy. Want more?

Feb'10 Favorites and Recommendations

For a really, really long time now, I have been meaning to put something on my about page, but I've just been so lazy about it. Probably because I'm just not big on the idea of some sort of autobiography, so instead I decided to combine it with something else I've been meaning to do for a while now: current favorites and recommendations.

I figured once a month would be the best way to do it, and finally getting some content on the about page would be as easy as copying and pasting the blog entries. Yeah, I cut corners. So what? Hopefully, if I stick to it, I'll be picking a favorite album, video game, TV show, movie, book, and website each month to recommend. Here's February's list.

Finally a Good Reason to Shop at Walmart

As I've said before, I am not a fan of Walmart. Until there's more development out in this area, though, I don't have much else of a choice for grocery shopping, so every time before I go there, I actually have to mentally prepare myself. If I don't, I fear I may just flip out and cause a scene because I hate just about everyone that shops there. There's always at least one person that does something that pisses me off, and holding back the rage makes my left eye twitch. It's not pleasant. At all. Hate the Walmart.

However, a couple days ago I was shown a very clever site that has given me a reason to actually want to go to. Instead of trying to distract myself from my surroundings while shopping in order to avoid noticing anything with potential to piss me off, I will actually be keeping an eye out so I can take a photo and submit it to People of Walmart. I won't just be grocery shopping, I'll be white-trash hunting too! Oh, the fun to be had.

Since first seeing the website, I've left it open in a tab to remind myself to blog about it. And, of course, I've been refreshing it every now and then to check for new updates. Tonight, however, the site is actually forwarding to an article on Time.com. Apparently they received so much traffic over the last few days that their site crashed, so I hope they are doing something to fix that soon. I actually have a trip to Walmart scheduled for tomorrow after class and will hopefully be returning home with at least one photo worthy of submission.
